Frequently asked questions
What was the Kurukshetra war?
The Kurukshetra war was the great eighteen-day battle at the heart of the Mahabharata, where the five Pandava brothers faced their one hundred Kaurava cousins. It was a war of family against family, and its outcome would decide the fate of the entire kingdom.
Who fought on each side?
On one side stood the five Pandavas with Krishna as Arjuna’s charioteer and guide. On the other stood Duryodhana and his ninety-nine brothers, backed by mighty elders like Bhishma, Drona, and Karna, warriors the Pandavas had loved and learned from since childhood.
What is dharma and why does it matter here?
Dharma means duty, righteousness, and the right way to live. The Kurukshetra war is often called a dharmayuddha, a war for righteousness, because at its core it asks what justice demands when family loyalty and moral duty point in opposite directions.
Why did the Pandavas and Kauravas go to war?
After twelve years in the forest and one year in disguise, the Pandavas asked only for their kingdom back, but Duryodhana refused to return even a fraction of it. Krishna himself went as a peace messenger and was insulted. With honor exhausted and justice denied, the Pandavas had no choice left but war.
What will Season 4 of the podcast cover?
Season 4 dives into the Kurukshetra war itself: the locking of alliances, the strategies and sacrifices of battle, and the human stories behind the epic. Guided by Krishna and shaped by dharma, it explores how heroes, teachers, and kings are tested when family bonds break.
