Privacy policy

Mythical Masala with Neev is a podcast for kids, made by a family. This site collects as little as possible: no accounts, no advertising trackers, no cookies of our own. This page explains what does get collected, by whom, and why.

Who we are

Mythical Masala with Neev ("we", "us") publishes the podcast and runs this website at mythicalmasalapodcast.com. For anything about this policy, email neev@mythicalmasalapodcast.com.

Children

Our listeners are children, so we designed the site to collect nothing from them. The website has no accounts, comments or forms a child can fill in. Any email signup on this site is for parents, teachers and other adults aged 18 and over, and says so next to the form. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

What we collect, and when

Just visiting

Reading pages and playing episodes here does not require any information from you. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details to serve pages and protect against abuse, and keeps standard server logs for a short time. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying individual visitors.

Listening

The audio player on episode pages is provided by Buzzsprout, our podcast host. When you press play, Buzzsprout receives your IP address and player details to deliver the audio and count the play. See Buzzsprout's privacy policy. Links to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and other apps take you to those services, which have their own policies.

Fan mail

Fan mail is sent as a text message through Buzzsprout's Fan Mail service. We see the message and the phone number it came from. We use them only to read and, sometimes, answer messages on the show. We do not read full names, phone numbers or locations on air. Please send messages on behalf of younger children, and leave out last names, schools and anything else personal.

Email

If you email us, we keep the message and your address to reply. We do not add you to any list without asking.

Newsletter and printable signups (adults only)

When an email signup is offered, it asks for your email address, optionally your first name, and whether you are a parent, teacher or other. We use it to send the file you asked for and occasional emails about new episodes and printables. Signups use double opt-in, every email has an unsubscribe link, and the list is held by our email provider, which is named on the form. We never sell or share the list.

Embedded content

Fonts and images on this site are served from our own domain. Embedded players and linked videos are governed by the policies of Buzzsprout and YouTube respectively.

Cookies

We set no cookies. Third-party embeds, such as the Buzzsprout player, may set their own; your browser settings control those.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or unsubscribe from any email at any time. Email neev@mythicalmasalapodcast.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have additional legal rights; we honor requests regardless of location.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes to how signups work will be announced on the signup form.
