Neev:
Welcome back to Mythical Masala. I’m Neev.

The war has begun.

Co-host:
 Not planning anymore.
 Not talking.

Neev:
 Fighting.

Co-host:
 So this is Day One?

Neev:
Yes!

Rules are tested, strategies collide, and the battlefield starts revealing what this war will really cost.

Co-host:
 And nobody’s walking away untouched.

Neev:
 Not even the greatest warriors.

Let’s go back to Kurukshetra —
where the first arrows have already flown.

Neev:
The two armies stood facing each other at Kurukshetra.

Chariots in rows.
 Banners snapping in the wind.
Millions of warriors waiting for the first command.

Co-host:
 Nobody’s blinking.

Neev:
And then… something completely unexpected happened.
Yudhishthira stepped down from his chariot.

Co-host:
Don’t tell me - Now he’s having second thoughts like Arjuna

Neev:
 He removed his armor.

Co-host:
Oh no!  Do we need to bring Krishna to him, so he can give the same guidance

Neev:
 Then he lowered his weapons.

Co-host:
 Uh.
 That’s not a warm-up stretch. He’s giving up already… That’s quite anti–climactic.

Neev:
 Across the battlefield, warriors froze.

Disarming could mean only one thing.

Co-host:
 Surrender.

Neev:
The Pandava brothers stared at each other in shock.

They knew their eldest brother well.

Forgiveness came easily to Yudhishthira.
 Compassion followed close behind.

Co-host:
 But this? After everything.

Neev:
Arjuna jumped down from his chariot.
 Krishna followed him.

Then Bhima, Nakula, and Sahadeva rushed forward too.

They surrounded Yudhishthira, trying to block his path.

Co-host: Its too late to walk away bro!

Arjuna:
 “Brother, what are you doing?”

Neev:
 Yudhishthira didn’t stop.

He kept walking.

Arjuna:
“You can see them — armed, ready to kill us.
You’ve disarmed yourself and you’re walking toward them on foot.
 What does this mean?”

Co-host: Well hope the rules of the war are still being followed - no attacking the unarmed.

Neev:
 Yudhishthira said nothing.

His eyes stayed fixed ahead.

Only Krishna understood what was happening.

Co-host:
Yes of course! Krishna understands everything. I mean he’s God’s avatar - he’s has more game points than humans!

Neev:
On the other side, the Kaurava army reacted very differently.
They watched Yudhishthira approach… and began to smile.

Co-host:
Hmmm! Bet they are smiling on the inside!

Neev:
 Some laughed. Out loud…

Some whispered.

Some cheered.

Kaurava soldiers:
 “He’s afraid.”
 “He’s surrendering.”
 “A disgrace to warriors!”

Co-host:
They thought they’d won without firing a single arrow.

Neev:
 Exactly.

Victory without effort.

But Yudhishthira wasn’t walking toward them in fear.

He was walking toward something else.

Neev:
 Yudhishthira walked straight toward Bhishma.

Not slowly.
 Not nervously.

Boldly.

Co-host:
Okay, at this point everyone’s brain has stopped working. The war is not warring!

Neev:
 Yudhishthira folded his hands.

And spoke.

Yudhishthira:
“Grandfather, it is against our wishes that we must fight you.
But duty has brought us here.
Please give us permission to begin the war…
and your blessings to win it.”

Co-host:
…That was not on anyone’s battlefield bingo card. I thought all these permission formalities would already be done - after all they are all standing on the battlefield facing each other.

Neev:
The Kaurava army was watching in disbelief.

 This wasn’t surrender.

It was something far more shocking.

Co-host: Yeah,  He was asking blessings from the enemy. Didn’t expect that.

Neev:
 Bhishma’s eyes filled with tears.

Bhishma:
 “My dear son…
my heart is overjoyed to see you follow the highest code of conduct.”

Bhishma raised his hand in blessing.

Bhishma:
 “Victory will be yours.”

Co-host:
Isn’t that like working against your own team? Sabotaging from the inside!

Neev:
 Then Yudhishthira turned…
 and walked to Dronacharya.

Co-host:
This day just keeps getting stranger.

Neev:
 Yudhishthira circled his teacher respectfully
 and bowed low.

Yudhishthira:
“Guru, please grant us permission to fight…
 and your blessings.”

Neev:
 Drona closed his eyes.

Drona:
“My body is bound to fight for the Kauravas…
but my heart prays for your victory.”

Co-host:
O K…Pandavas seem to already be collecting very useful rewards - the whole idea is the blessings would come true - which means they want the other side to win!

Neev:
 Drona lifted Yudhishthira gently.

Drona:
 “May you taste victory —
 not just in war…
 but in life.”

Neev:
One by one, Yudhishthira approached Kripacharya
 and then his uncle Shalya.

Both blessed him warmly.

Co-host:
I get it…. the Pandavas were hard not to like. Poor Duryodhana…would he be better off without these folks.

Neev:
Haha! Maybe only time will tell. .

Neev:
 Yudhishthira turned back.

Walked to his chariot.

Put on his armor again.

Co-host:
So he wasn’t giving up. Phew! Had us all confused for a few minutes there!

Neev:
 Not at all.

He had done something smarter.

Neev:
With the blessings of his elders,
 Yudhishthira was ready.

Co-host:
 That’s called strategy… with manners.

Neev:
His brothers looked at him with new respect.

Fear had loosened its grip.

Victory suddenly felt… possible.

Neev :
 And just like that…

The war began.
 Drums thundered.
 Conches screamed.
 Pipes wailed.
And above it all — battle cries echoed across Kurukshetra.

Co-host:
 Wow — that is loud.
So much for a quiet start.

Neev:
Duryodhana led the Kaurava forces forward.

From the Pandava side, Bhima charged ahead like a force of nature.

Co-host:
 Which is never subtle.

Neev:
 Never.

On the first day, one warrior dominated the battlefield.

Bhishma.

Co-host:
The grandfather no one could stop.

Neev:
He moved through the field like a storm —
cutting down warriors, breaking formations, spreading fear.

Co-host:
This is where experience really shows. But wait, didn’t he just bless the other side. Was that an act!

Neev:
 The Pandavas tried everything.

Young Abhimanyu rushed forward, brave and determined.

Co-host:
That’s Arjuna’s son. This war is across generations!

Neev:
 Yes.

He attacked Bhishma to slow him down…

But courage alone wasn’t enough.

Co-host:
Not against Bhishma. You are fighting the OG

Neev:
 Elsewhere, the fighting was fiercer.

Bhima, Dhrishtadyumna, Virata, and Virata’s sons — Sveta and Uttar —
pushed back hard against the Kaurava ranks.

Co-host:
Feels like chaos everywhere.

Neev:
 Everywhere.

But war doesn’t spare anyone.

Virata’s sons fell —
struck down by Shalya and Bhishma.

Co-host! Oh no! Already and its just day one.

Neev:
By the end of the first day, the truth was clear.

As long as Bhishma stood on the battlefield…
 the Pandavas could not win.

Co-host:
Even though Bhishma had blessed the Pandavas and wanted them to win - he was performing his duty once he was on the battlefield - fully committed to Duryodhana and the Kaurava army.

Neev:
 Exactly.

Neev:
Day Two began with a different energy.

The Pandavas adjusted.

Arjuna rode straight toward Bhishma.

Co-host:
 Grandson versus grandfather.

Neev:
 Their battle shook the field.

Arrow met arrow.
 Chariot met chariot.

Neither could overpower the other.

Co-host:
 So… evenly matched?

Neev:
 Perfectly.

Elsewhere, Dronacharya clashed with Dhrishtadyumna.

Co-host:
Their duel is going to be epic.

Neev:
 The fight was brutal.

Dhrishtadyumna was wounded.

Co-host:
Oh no!  That’s bad. I was rooting for him

Neev:
 Very.

But Bhima charged in and pulled him to safety.

Neev:
By the end of the second day, something had changed.

Arjuna and Bhima had begun to turn the tide.

Kaurava formations broke.
 Confidence cracked.

Co-host:
So the Pandavas finally get some momentum.

Neev:
 Yes.

But Bhishma still stood.

Neev:
Two days of war had passed.

Thousands had fallen.
 The battlefield was scarred.

And the hardest truth was now impossible to ignore.

Co-host:
 This war couldn’t be won…
 …until Bhishma was stopped.

Neev:
 Day Three arrived without mercy.

Both armies formed up again —
this time faster, angrier, and far less patient.

Co-host:
 So… whatever energy everyone saved?
 Gone.

Neev:
 Completely.

Bhishma led the Kaurava charge,
with Duryodhana riding close behind him.

From the Pandava side, Bhima and Arjuna fanned out,
cutting into the Kaurava ranks from different directions.

Co-host:
 Divide and overwhelm. Nice strategy!

Neev:
 Exactly.

Neev:
In one part of the field, Bhishma and Drona pushed toward Yudhishthira.

Co-host:
Ok.  That’s not where you want to be. I would just run away!

Neev:
Yudhishthira stood firm, supported by Nakula and Sahadeva.

Arrows flew.
 Chariots collided.

Neev:
Elsewhere, Shakuni tried to strike where he thought the Pandavas were weakest —
he attacked Satyaki and young Abhimanyu.

Co-host:
Oh no! Sly as ever. Always making Bad choices.

Neev:
Yes. Very bad.

Together, Satyaki and Abhimanyu drove Shakuni back.

Co-host: You go boys! Well done!

Neev:
On another front, Bhima and Ghatotkacha charged straight at Duryodhana.

Co-host:
Duryodhana is a big guy but having both Bhima and ghatotkacha marching towards you must have been terrifying

Neev:
 It was.

Ghatotkacha towered over the battlefield,
while Bhima attacked with unstoppable force.

Duryodhana was driven back.

Neev:
And Duryodhana did what he always did when things went wrong.

Co-host:
 Let me guess.
 He blamed someone else.

Neev:
 Correct.

He rode straight to Bhishma.

Duryodhana:
 “You favor the Pandavas!
 You hold back against them!”

Neev:
 Bhishma did not argue.

He did not shout.

He simply continued fighting.

Co-host:
 Duty over pride.

Neev:
 Yes.

Neev:
 Still, Arjuna struggled.

Again and again he faced Bhishma…
and again he failed to stop him.

Co-host:
That’s not like Arjuna. Looks like he’s the one holding back.

Neev:
Yes. Krishna saw it.

And for the first time since the war began…

Krishna was angry.

Co-host: Oh! I have never seen Krishna angry! Arjun must be doing really bad!

Krishna:
“A warrior’s duty is to fight with full strength.
If you will not do it…
 I will.”

Co-host:
Wait — wasn’t Krishna not supposed to fight?

Neev:
 Yes.

He had vowed never to lift a weapon.

Krishna:
 “If Bhishma is not stopped,
I will break my vow myself.”

Neev:
 Arjuna froze.

Then he understood.

This wasn’t anger.

It was a reminder.

Arjuna:
 “I will not falter.
 I will do my duty.”

Co-host: Yes, you must! Learn from your grandpa!

Neev:
The third day ended with the battlefield scarred and shaken.

Bhishma still stood.
 The Pandavas were stronger.
And the war had crossed a line.

Co-host:
 From here on…
every day is going to cost more.

Neev:
 Yes.

And the next day would demand a choice
that no one wanted to make.

Neev:
 That’s where we’ll pause today.

Three days of war have passed.

The rules have been tested.
 The strongest warriors have clashed.
And the cost of this battle is becoming impossible to ignore.

Co-host:
This isn’t the war anyone imagined.

Neev:
 No.
 And it’s only just beginning.

Co-host:
 Duty can’t be avoided.

Neev:
In the next episode, strategy replaces strength.

The war takes a turn.
And the fate of the greatest warrior on the battlefield is decided.

Co-host:
Nothing about that sounds easy. Join us and let’s face this together!

Neev:
